Analyst Risk Modelling
Reporting to the Head of Strategic and Market Analysis and located in Dublin, the position of Analyst Risk Modelling is a member of the Strategic and Market Analysis Team. SMBC Aviation Capital has a series of proprietary asset valuation and risk monitoring models which help ensure correct risk management, business decisions, deal analysis and financial postings. These models are the responsibility of the Strategic and Market Analysis Team. The successful candidate will be required to build and maintain bespoke models to perform calculations or data manipulation at a portfolio or deal level.
The Strategic and Market Analysis Team reports into the Chief Operating Sustainability Officer (COSO). Team COSO compromises of future looking functions, including strategy, innovation, ESG, Communications, Corporate Affairs and Property & Facilities. These functions collaborate and work together to anticipate and predict future industry trends, de-risk the current business model and provide long term strategic direction to the business, in order to deliver the best possible outcomes for our people, shareholders and customers.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage and develop best in class supply and demand, asset valuation and liquidity models.
- Provide input into pricing and capital models via Monte Carlo modelling and analysis.
- Ensure that the relevant management reports are provided to stakeholders in a timely and accurate manner.
- Embrace market intelligence from appraisers and manufacturers’ planning departments to provide insights to the business to enable enhanced decision making and contribute actively to the debate around the issues.
- Provide guidance and insight into business wide financial issues.
- Ensure team adherence to existing processes, procedures and best governance practices of SMBC AC while contributing to improvements in business flow.
Qualifications & Experience
- The successful candidate should have a mathematical and/or financial background. A statistics/econometrics degree is desirable.
- At least 2 years’ experience in a similar role with a track record of building models from first principles and experience in analysing and manipulating data.
- An exceptional proficiency in excel is required.
- Excellent numerical analysis ability.
- Proven track record working in a fast paced, dynamic, service orientated environment.
- Knowledge of the aviation industry, aircraft leasing or asset management advantageous.
- Experience of complex financial analysis or scenario modelling.
