Digital Transformation Owner

Reporting to the Data & Digital Change Lead in Information Technology and located in Dublin, the Digital Transformation Owner is a senior role (sitting at SVP level) within the SMBC Aviation Capital Information Technology team.
Our Information Technology team continues to progress at pace through our IT journey, identifying opportunities to use technology to deliver business value in addition to modernising our existing infrastructure and application estate by leveraging the latest technology platforms that best support our end-to-end business processes both now and into the future.

This Digital Transformation Owner role will be responsible for capturing business requirements, driving business impact and adoption that will deliver business value. They will work in partnership with the wider SMBC AC team to ensure these requirements are converted into actionable insights/ initiatives and delivered successfully, achieving the company objectives and goals as set out during the business case justification process. They will also bring industry good practice to drive the change of what good looks like and take the company on the journey of the art of the possible, in a practical outcome-driven way.

They will also be responsible for the business process architecture & roadmap that leverage the existing and new data, application and AI capabilities. They will work closely with the data, AI and application IT team, continuously challenging the IT team to find innovative ways of solving business challenges & create business opportunities.

    Core Responsibilities

    • Partner with stakeholders across the organisation to inform the digital transformation product vision, strategy, features, and prioritization.
    • Develop strong relations across the entire organisation, understand the company pain points and needs and translate them into actionable digital initiatives through active collaboration with all IT/Business colleagues.
    • IT representative within the wider business - Manage the interface with internal customers to ensure information needs are formalised, understood, and communicated appropriately.
    • Drive the cross functional efforts to maximise data quality across the different business processes.
    • Manage the product roadmap & backlog of requirements, ensuring alignment with business strategy.
    • Be a champion for a data insights culture, supporting and training the organisation in data systems and reporting/ analytics capability.
    • Develop a comprehensive understanding of the business processes across the organisation and through a CSI/Lean approach, create comprehensive roadmaps and plans to enhance those business processes on an ongoing basis.
    • Analyse market trends and competitor products to ensure their product remains competitive and relevant.
    • Understand user personas and develop value propositions that meet user needs.
    • Track objectives & key results (OKRs) and use data to make informed decisions and improvements.

    Qualifications & Experience

    • At least 10 years’ experience in operational excellence & strategic business transformation roles.
    • Experience in running organisation-wide digital transformation initiatives with tangible outcomes.
    • Extensive Data Analytics, Management, Business Process Management & Improvements experience.
    • Management Consultant led approach to interfacing with colleagues at all levels of the organization.
    • Strong interpersonal skills with a proven ability of managing engagements to ensure the best outcome for the business.
    • Strong stakeholder communication & organisational change management experience.
    • Gather & analyse business requirements to improve processes.
    • Strong organisational skills, the ability to perform under pressure and management of multiple priorities with competing demands for resources.
    • Strong business process understanding (ideally Aircraft Leasing/Banking-Financial sector).
    • Strong digital, data and AI literacy - Have a good understanding of how to use data, AI & digital technologies to optimise business process & create real business impact.
    • Citizen developer & citizen data science experience (preferred) - Power BI & Power Platform suite).
    • Microsoft 365 self-service tools (Teams, Planner, MS Forms).
    • Data Governance experience (preferred).
