India visit to charity partners Pratyek and Do Slumthing

On 18 November 2023, a team of eight people from SMBC Aviation Capital travelled to Delhi to visit Pratyek our largest global CSR partner. They got the chance to visit the facility and see first-hand the important work the staff do with the children there. The trip included lots of work with the children – including games, origami workshop, drama and viewing one of their child parliament sessions, as well as tours given by the children of local temples and also the slum area where some of the children who attend Pratyek live.  One of the highlights was the trip to Agra to see the Taj Mahal with Pratyek staff and some of the children.

PratYek is an NGO based in Delhi city centre which actively supports children & families from the 6 surrounding slum areas. PratYek educate and empower children and relevant stakeholders to build a rights-based, just, inclusive, participatory, equitable, sustainable, fulfilling, interconnected and mystical earth community.

Following the visit to Pratyek in Delhi, Lorcan and Sophie travelled to Jaipur to visit another one of our CSR partners, Do Slumthing. The charity works to provide education to those who otherwise would have none. It was amazing to see the valuable teaching of Shahadat Ali, and we hope to return and visit with a larger group in 2024.
