SVP Information Technology
Reporting to the EVP Information Technology and located in Dublin, this position of SVP IT with responsibility for Business-Led Digital Program Delivery is a senior position in the SMBC AC Information Technology team.
Our Information Technology team continues to progress at pace through our IT journey, identifying opportunities to use technology to deliver business value in addition to modernising our existing infrastructure and application estate by leveraging the latest technology platforms that best support our end-to-end business processes both now and into the future.
This SVP IT role will be responsible for the support and transformation of the SMBC AC Digital Application landscape. They will work in partnership with the wider SMBC AC team to capture business requirements and ensure these requirements are converted into actionable insights/ initiatives and delivered successfully, achieving the business objectives and goals as set out during the business justification process.
They will have full Change Management responsibility for their area, including stakeholder communication management, awareness and training across all levels within the business.
They will also be responsible for defining and delivering the Digital Strategy and Roadmap in terms of business applications, platform, and application development & delivery model
Core Responsibilities
Change Management
- IT representative in the business - Manage the interface with internal customers to ensure information needs are formalised, understood, and communicated appropriately.
- Be the voice of the business within IT
- Develop strong relations across the entire organisation, understand the business pain points and needs. Work with your team to translate them into actionable digital initiatives through active collaboration with all IT/ Business colleagues.
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of the Business Processes across the organisation and create comprehensive digital roadmaps and plans to enhance those business processes on an ongoing basis.
- Partner with stakeholders across the organisation to inform the product vision, strategy, features, and prioritization.
- Ensure the business receive the appropriate level of training and guidance to deliver maximum value from our digital investment.
Digital Program Management
- Provide leadership, vision and direction to your team, made up of both internal and external staff to ensure it will deliver on the IT and company strategy and objectives.
- Manage application development pipeline and application transformation project roadmap to ensure successful delivery on time, on budget with the approved scope.
- Manage your team, developing their skills and capabilities to meet the needs of the organisation, as well as building on existing recruiting capabilities to address new needs and skills gaps.
- Manage the business applications life cycle, status reporting, metrics, and benchmarks.
- Manage relationships with major vendors and service providers to ensure they achieve their service operations and project delivery responsibilities.
- Manage the team and 3rd party service providers in the delivery of a robust application support service model, in line with ITIL Service Management Framework
Qualifications & Experience
- Proven experience as a transformation and change leader in a similar role, leading medium-large scale transformation programs which deliver business value breakthroughs.
- Extensive digital & application transformation, team & delivery Management, business process & improvements management experience.
- Management consultant led approach to communications and interfacing with colleagues at all levels of the organisation.
- Excellent communications and interpersonal skills with a proven ability of managing engagements to ensure the best outcome for the business.
- Technical background (app dev/management) with extensive understanding and experience with cloud and legacy application architecture design (SaaS/PaaS/DaaS/On-Prem), application development, DevOps, Waterfall & Agile methodology.
- Strong organizational skills, the ability to perform under pressure and management of multiple priorities with competing demands for resources.
- Strong business understanding (ideally Aircraft Leasing/Banking-Financial sector).
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related field.
- 15+ years in IT role with at least 7 at a leadership level.
